Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center

Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center is conveniently located on Nassau Harbor overlooking Junkanoo Beach. The hotel is within walking distance of the downtown business and financial district, the Straw Market and duty-free shopping. The public beach is directly across Bay Street from the pool deck.

The hotel has a medium-sized pool with a large spa tub, and a larger rectangular pool measuring 50 by 27 feet. In addition to sunbathing on the pool decks, guests may relax on a second-story, oceanview deck located between the hotel's two wings. Others opt for the massage center and beauty salon. Children can take advantage of the video arcade. Most rooms have either a private balcony or views of the ocean or pool. The hotel's business center rents cellular telephones and provides services such as copying, faxing, printing, and dial-up Internet access (fees). The hotel also has a video-game room and barber/beauty shop offering massages and hair and nail care (fees).

This hotel is currently undergoing a $500,000 renovation and refurbishing project. Guestrooms and public spaces will be improved, and new furniture will be added to many of the guestrooms. There will also be new interior/exterior paint and carpeting. All work will be done with minimal impact to guests. Renovations should be completed by early spring, 2006. To coincide with this initiative, this hotel will be operated independently and re-named as the Nassau Palm Resort & Conference Center. All current standards of operations, special offerings, and programs will remain in place as with Holiday Inn.

American/Bahamian menu including conch fritters, lobster salad, burgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks, seafood, and "souses" (stews) such as conch, chicken, and fish. Saturday-night dancing to DJ music. Large-screen television, often tuned to sports.
Cafe Willie - American and Bahamanian specialties, such as steaks, ribs, local fish, shrimp, chowder, and cracked lobster. Open for all three meals.
Chaise Lounge - Located next to the pool deck. Video poker, pool table, juke box, television. Serves imported and Bahamian beers, cocktails, cordials, and cognacs as well as frozen tropical drinks

183 guestrooms in two terra-cotta-colored, five-story wings with outside corridors. All rooms have step-out or full balconies, some with views of the ocean and others with island views. All rooms are air-conditioned, and some also have ceiling fans. Some rooms come with tub/shower combinations, others with stall showers only. All rooms are painted cream and white and feature brightly colored floral bedspreads. Rooms feature large work desks, refrigerators, 25-inch cable TVs with HBO and other U.S. channels, in-room safe, hair dryer and two-line speaker phones with dial-up Internet access (fee).
