Hilton International has added its first Bahamian property, the 291-room
British Colonial Hilton Nassau, to its growing family of Caribbean hotels and resorts. Built on the historic site of the Old Fort Nassau, this Bahamian landmark has been restored to it's former glory as a luxury business and leisure hotel.
Recreation facilities include a sparkling beachfront, freshwater swimming pool, the only private beach in downtown Nassau, lush tropical gardens, and a fitness center. A variety of water sports are also available including scuba diving, snorkelling and non-motorized watersports. Also nearby is a championship golf, casinos, the renowned Bay Street Straw Market, and duty-free shops.
Ideally situated in the heart of Nassau's financial district, the British Colonial Hilton Nassau set on eight tropical beachfront acres, offers guests a luxurious blend of business and pleasure.The marble-tiled lobby is studded with palm trees under a 1.5-story skylight ceiling. A jazz/R&B/dance club, lobby lounge with nightly Bahamian/Caribbean music, and private beach attract locals as well as business and leisure travelers.
Bordered on one side by a tropical garden, the hotel's large pool has an expansive sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. A 75-yard-long private beach is furnished with additional lounge chairs and thatched sunshades. Use of kayaks, snorkeling gear, and pedal boats on the beach is complimentary. Both sundeck and beach offer views of cruise ships moored nearby, and of the western tip of Paradise Island, 300 yards offshore. Guests can snooze in hammocks on the lawn adjacent to the pool.
The 3,200-square-foot Azure Spa has seven treatment rooms with leather and cherry-wood furnishings. A business center offers computers with Internet access (fee), as well as services such as printing and faxing.

Patio Grille & Pool Bar - Poolside location with two open-air seating areas, one a bar and the other an ocean-view dining area under bleached-wood ceiling. Lunch menu featuring conch fritters, conch chowder, burger, sandwich, salads, and tropical drinks. Karaoke Friday nights. Open daily, midday until early evening.
Blackbeard's Cove Lobby Bar - Casual bar/lounge with large-screen television. Offering a snack menu. Open every afternoon until late night.
Palm Court Lounge - Crystal chandelier, tall columns, dance floor. Afternoon tea service. Bahamian/Caribbean band Wednesday through Sunday nights. Open every day from afternoon until late night.
Blue Note Lounge - Second-floor jazz/R&B/dance club open nightly. Clubby ambience of dark woods, semi-private booths with leather love seats, comfortable seating, pale-blue walls, and sheer curtains. Dressier clientele. Open every day from afternoon until late night.

291 carpeted, air-conditioned guestrooms in a six-story, sand-colored tower with red-tile roof. Colonial-style room decor features dark woods, crown molding, white walls, pastel ceilings, pastel Bahamian art prints, and gold bedspreads.
