Small and intimate, Franklyn D. Resort caters especially to families. With a vacation nanny service, restaurant/buffet cuisine, and a multitude of activities, the resort predominantly attracts parents of young children and infants, and, sometimes, teenage siblings.

The resort features two small crescent beaches fronting calm-water swimming coves. Snorkeling opportunities lie within and just outside the coves. A 75-foot-long free-form shaped pool supplies freshwater swimming. A 100-foot spiral water slide plunges children into an activities pool. Toddlers enjoy two shallow pools, one with a four-foot water slide. A rocky point between the swimming coves features an adults-only six-person spa tub and a sundeck.

The most outstanding feature of this resort is its focus on family. FDR has taken the concept of the traditional Kids Club to a whole new level. On arrival, each family is provided with a personal nanny at no extra charge between the hours of 9am - 4:40pm. Your children are not hidden away in a Kid's Club, instead you will see children in all areas of the resort accompanied by their nannies. There are several areas where your children can have fun at this resort from the very young to teenagers. A favorite, however, is the waterslide!FDR has been designed as a family friendly resort where you can sit back, relax, and have a vacation suited for the whole family. It is a place where the whole family can return year after year and they do. Its sister property, FDR Pebbles, located in the nearby Trelawny area is more suited to families with older children.

Dining:

Verandah Restaurant - Open-air restaurant with additional ocean-view terrace seating adjacent to open-air stage where entertainment is presented nightly.
The Pier Restaurant - Adults-only, candle-lit, open-air restaurant in wood pavilion isolated on finger pier at one end of resort. A la carte Italian menu with antipasti bar. Closed Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Beach Side Grill - Open-air spot open daily from late morning to early evening for burgers, hot dogs, jerk chicken and pork, french fries, ice cream cones, popcorn. Early-evening children's buffet dinner nightly with familiar fare such as grilled-cheese sandwiches, burgers, and pasta.
Main Bar - Open-air poolside spot serving tropical drinks, cocktails, beer daily from late morning to late night.

76 spacious, air-conditioned suites housed in 8 low-rise buildings of distinct Georgian/Mediterranean style architecture. Balconies or ground-floor terraces furnished with two Adirondack chairs. Decor features pastel walls, white crown molding and ceilings, white wood trim, mahogany-stained or rattan furniture, and cream-colored tile floors. All units have LAN internet access, full bathroom, separate living and dining areas, telephone, satellite TV, kitchens and a private balcony or terrace.
