Sunset Beach Resort & Spa

This family resort features wide-open spaces, tropical gardens, acres of beach, and all facilities necessary for either relaxing or active family holidays. Sunset Beach Resort and Spa has three pools surrounded by sundecks that supply freshwater swimming and sunbathing space. A 75 by 30 feet pool is separated by a two-sided swim-up bar. The Second pool is a 75-foot-long freeform pool. Adjacent to the bar is an oceanfront 25-person spa tub. The third pool, a 75-foot-long kidney-shape affair, contains a volleyball net.

600 yards long private beach, includes two swimming-cove sections perfect for uncrowded lounging. Rock jetties divide the beach into four sections, the most isolated reserved for nude sunbathing.

Newly opened, Pirates' Paradise Water Park has twists, turns, rides, and slides for all ages. This park offers a lazy river, 2 rooftop jacuzzis, a pirate's fort, 2 waterslides and a pirate ship, just to name a few. All of this included in the All-Inclusive plan. Use of snorkeling gear, small sailboats, kayaks, and pedal boats is also part of the All-Inclusive Plan, as is play on four lighted tennis courts. Also included are classes such as aerobics, Pilates, and yoga-depending on the specialty of instructor available. Land sports include miniature golf, shuffleboard, and outdoor chess.

A 5,000-square-foot health and beauty spa scented by fragrant oil and featuring bleached wood, pastel walls, and tile floors offers hydrotherapy, Vichy showers, body wraps and scrubs, waxing, hair braiding, paraffin treatments, and hair and nail care. The spa includes couples rooms, relaxation lounges, and saunas and steam rooms. (Surcharges for all services.) Open-air massage is also offered at the beach.

An air-conditioned room contains 56 slot and video-poker machines as well as a horse-racing machine. A business center offer three computers with high-speed Internet connections and fax and photocopy services (surcharges for all services).
Several shops sell art, crafts, gifts, jewelry, resort wear, and beachwear.

An air-conditioned clubhouse with adjacent playground provides supervised activities for children age 2-12 from morning to night as part of the All-Inclusive plan. Day-and-night family activities include nightly entertainment such as fashion shows and Jamaican performers on an outdoor stage. Shopping shuttles operate daily to Montego Bay's Hip Strip for shopping (charges apply).

Dining

Banana Walk - Open-air, ocean-view restaurant under peaked wood ceiling with fans. Louvered-wood shutters. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets daily.
Bottocelli - Air-conditioned Italian restaurant with slate-tile floor, coral-colored walls. Dinner only. Meal consisting of antipasta, choices of soups and salads, pasta, and main courses such as roast pork, pan-seared snapper and rack of lamb. Reservations required. Dress code: Dress shorts or long pants and collared shirts for men.
Silk Road - Fine dining serving Chinese classics in this pan-Asian and Pacific Rim eatery. Reservations are required. Open for dinner only.
Sunset Beach Bar & Grill - Casual, open-air, oceanfront spot with seating under two large thatched roofs. Snack foods served throughout the day.
Galaxy Disco - Adults-only disco with mirrored-wall dance floor. DJ music nightly.
The English Pub - Adults-only air-conditioned spot serving drinks evening to late night. Pool table. Scarlet-purple-stripe walls with a blue ceiling.
Garden Lobby Bar - English tea served every afternoon. *There is also a swim-up bar and a beach bar.

The resort offers 430 guestrooms and suites in two 10-story towers colored pastel yellow and orange. All accommodations include full baths, hair dryers, telephone with voice mail, Satellite TVs, in-room safes, irons and ironing boards, and private balconies.


Located on a tip of a peninsula 2.5 miles (4 km) west of central Montego Bay. Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is 7 miles away. Approximate driving time is 15 minutes.
