Families are provided with a variety of wholesome activities. Adjacent to a children's pool, an activities center provides an endless supply of board games; lends out balls for use on the beach; organizes Ping-Pong tournaments, pool volleyball, and water polo; and selects music for the pool area according to guests' requests and mood. For children ages five to twelve (additional cost for ages 4 months - 4 years), a Mini Club provides various activities and includes video games.

Folk paintings of Mayan scenes, stained-glass ceiling insets in front of the reception desk, and classical background music create a gracious ambience in the airy lobby of the 450-room, 11-story hotel whose outer wings are shaped like Mayan pyramids. The lobby area includes a small business center with Internet access, a jewelry store, and a clothing boutique. A beauty shop offers massage in addition to hair and nail care. The sundeck extends along a terrace above the beach, which features thatched-roof palapas for shade. The pool includes a swim-up bar and a sunning island reachable by a bridge.

Located only 10 minutes from the hotel by taxi is the Pok-ta-Pok Club de Golf, an 18-hole course that is beautifully situated between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupte Lagoon and designed by renowned golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr.
