Resort Information
Overlooking Nichupté Lagoon, this hotel with red-tiled roofs has its own lagoon in the form of a freeform pool; also on site are pool and ping-pong tables, and a small hair salon. The
Clipper Club has no beach. All beaches in Mexico are public, however, so guests need only hop on a public bus to reach all of Cancún Island's 14 miles of white sand. Some beaches are within 5-to-15-minute walks of the hotel.
The hotel's large, lagoon-style pool consists of two teardrop-shape ends connected by a channel. Surrounding the pool and an adjacent children's pool is a terra-cotta-colored sundeck. Next to the deck are two thatch-roof palapas, each shading two hammocks. Along the lagoon and running in back of the hotel is a red brick path used by morning joggers. Lush grounds are immaculately maintained. Adjacent to the lagoon is a large palapa sheltering a pool table, a ping-pong table, and a foosball table. The palapa also holds a small, one-room barber shop/beauty parlor that offers massage as well as hair and nail care. Like all major Cancún hotels, the Clipper Club is equipped with a water-purification system.
Room Information
72 rooms located in four story buildings, the Cancún Clipper Club resembles a motel. (Access to upper floors is by staircase, not elevators.) Room decor is a mix of colorful tropical fabrics and traditional Mexican furnishings, with tiled floors and ceiling fans. Though the rooms do not have balconies or patios, wood shutters—louvered for privacy and air circulation—can be opened for views of the tropical grounds. A complimentary liter of bottled water is delivered to rooms daily.
