Question: Any suggestions on what to do in Bermuda?
Question Description:
I am going on a cruise to Bermuda, making stops in
Hamilton, King's Warf, and St. Georges. We don't
want to spend a gazillion dollars on excursions
with our cruise line, so if anybody has
suggestions on stuff we just "have" to
do, please let me know!

Answer#1: We rented scooters. We went to the beach, We got a
6 pack of dark-n-stormy (national drink of
bermuda) and hung out a the beach. Keep the
scooter for the whole trip then you don't have to
be aboard the ship when it moves. Scooters are for
the fearless, you can get a rental car and taxi or
even the public bus is quite ok. Lots of options
for your budget.Citizens of Bermuda are really
nice and helpful. It a fun and safe island to
explore. You can also rent an ocean kayak for a
1/2 day and paddle in clear blue waters. We took a
group champagne/sunset cruise offered by the ship
(royal carribean), we sailed on a catarman and had
a lovely time. It wasn't a lot of money. Have a
wonderful time!
Answer#2: I cruised to Bermuda in July and it was my first
time. Horseshoe Beach is a great beach to visit.
You can have a taxi take you there for around $20.
It's in Hamilton. Hamilton is where you can do
most of your shopping. St. Georges does not have
too many shops for you go to. As far as nightlife
goes Hamilton has a club called Splash. Ask any
of the locals and they'll direct you. We went
there one night and it was a lot of fun. Somewhat
small but there's a second level so it alleviates
some of the crowding. When you go to St. Georges
I would suggest renting mopeds and cruising around
during the day. Without fail you have to visit
the Swizzle Inn while you're there. It's a
landmark in Bermuda. The original one is in St.
George and you can drive the moped there. It's
this dive bar that has a wide selection of food
but more importantly, they have 'Swizzle Rum'.
Food and the drinks are a little expensive but
worth the splurge. The rum comes out and you look
at this small pitcher and you wonder where your
money went. Then you realize they give you small
glasses to drink out of and when you get up to
leave you understand why their motto is 'swizzle
inn, swagger out'. At night in St. Georges go to
this bar called White Horse, it turns into a club
at night (if you can call it a club) called Light.
Definately nice right on the water. If worse
comes to worse try out Bermuda.com....hope this
helps
Answer#3: check out the link below to the bermuda travel
guide on virtualtourist.com it has lots of unbiast
reviews of great things to do in bermuda. My
personal suggestion is renting bikes. It's
relitively cheap and there is a great bike path
that goes pretty much all over the island. It's an
old rail road which is now a bike path. there's no
cars on it except where it crosses the road. You
may see bike excursions with your cruiseline, but
don't be ripped off, do a little reasearch or ask
a local and you will have a great time. Another
thing, DO NOT rent scooters, they are popular and
gas saving but on the windy overcrowded roads of
bermuda, they are not at all save for tourists.
just take the bus. my mom is a rehabilitation
doctor and she sees so many cases like this it's
rediculous. You can also see my reviews on virtual
tourist by searching for peterd1331, my username.
Leave a comment if you want, but have fun in

Answer#4: Wear Bermuda shorts.
Answer#5: Bermuda is a very small island and there isn't a
whole lot to do except water sports and shopping.
Look ahead to see if there are special parades or
ceremonies which are fun. You must see the
aquarium and underground caves-very nice. Don't
forget to rent a moped and sightsee. Have fun!
