Answer#1: I was there 2 years ago with verizon, and while
its on rome, I was able to make calls back to the
states. I just kept the calls short and actually,
I never did see the charges show up on the bill-
probably a fluke, but all in all I could still
call home
Answer#2: For verison dial from your phone*611Talk to the
Verison representative and ask them how much it
would be to increase your service so it works from
the Caribbean.I do this for Mexico and Canada all
the time.Instead of my normal 59 a month I
increase it to 79 for the month I am away. As soon
as I return I change it back again. You still
need to dial the country codes to get the US, so
if you get it, you might need to get help on what
to dial before the number. I always forgot if it
was100 or 001 or 011...It took me days to figure
it out from mexico.
