Answer#1: If you are looking for a safe Caribbean
destination with great beaches, hotels, and
restaurants, and enjoy scuba diving or
snorkeling... then you'll enjoy Grand Cayman
Island. If you have been to other Caribbean
Islands, you may find Grand Cayama a bit more
expensive. It's one of my favorite Islands, I
won't hesitate to go back. Good Luck
Answer#2: We love Grand Cayman and would cruise or visit
there every year if possible. Our family will be
cruising the week of March 18 making it our 5th
visit to the island. Two years ago, our daughter
was married on Governor's Beach in a beautiful
beach wedding. Snorkeling is great, the tour to
the Turtle Farm & Hell was a lot of fun. Very
nice shops for purchasing your souvenirs.
Margaritaville is new and we're excited to check
it out. Seven Mile Beach is very clean and
beautiful. You won't be sorry if you plan a trip
to the Cayman Islands.
Answer#3: Hi, unfortunately, I have not been there, but if I
was, and loved it, I'd probably go again.
Answer#4: I lived there for a few years and love the place.
Here is a link for you to see the main tourist
attractions. I would recommend the Botanic Park
(home to the unique blue iguana and to Cayman
parrots), Pedro St James, the Turtle Farm and the
Museum as interesting places to visit. Don't go
to Cardinal D's, which was one of the most
disappointing places I ever visited in my
life! What you do depends on your budget and
physique. If you are not interested in diving,
then try snorkelling (and a trip to Sting Ray
City) or a trip in a glass bottomed boat. There
is plenty to keep you busy, but perhaps you might
wish to take advantage of the availability of very
reasonably priced trips to Cuba every weekend.
The sister islands (Little Cayman and Cayman Brac)
are also a short flight away from Grand Cayman,
where it is all happening. Little Cayman is
unique in the Caribbean in being the breeding
place of the red footed booby, but this may change
in view of plans to build a huge international
airport there (I hope these plans have been
scrapped).
Answer#5: Grand Cayman is my fav of the three Cayman
islands. There's an east end and a west end. Most
of the tourists stay on the west end, at 7 mile
beach. The beaches are for swimming. very sandy,
no coral for snorkling.East end is rougher surf,
but lots of rock and coral. East end is quieter,
no tourist shops, and if you take a walk in the
jungle, you'll see wild, large iguanas if you go
slow. It's 23 miles from the west end so rent a
car if you stay on the east end.Try Bob Sotos dive
shop (west end) for great snorkle trips or resort
dives. They are actually the first dive shop in
the Caymans and know all the great spots, plus all
the history of the places you'll see.Don't forget
to go swim with the wild stingrays. The snorkle
boats let you off on the sandbar and you can feed
wild, yes wild stingrays. It's real cool! It's also
cool to take a 2 person sub to dive the wall.Enjoy
Cayman, it's great!
