Question: Bahamas, Jamaica or Mexico??
Question Description:
My Fiancè and I are planning a short 4-5 night
vacation for late spring to somewhere in the
Carribbean. I have been to the Bahamas several
times (Atlantis and Cable Beach) but never to
Jamaica or Mexico. We want something laid back,
where we can lay on the beach and sip on frozen
drinks all day. We like to gamble a little, but
don't really do the club scene, although we don't
mind the atmosphere. I also like some
shopping/exploring, which I thought was a bit
lacking in Nassau, but the beaches are the most
important thing to me. Where should I go? I have
listed the three suggestions because I know they
are similarly priced but all suggestions are
welcome. No cruise suggestions please, I have not
had a good experience with them. Thanks!

Answer#1: If you go to Jamaica, stay in Negril only. The 7
mile beach...turquoise and clear enough water you
can see through it to the floor even in 30ft +
water. Mexico, Cabo San Lucas was awesome. Some
parts though the beach is not swimmable.
Answer#2: Jamaica, but may I suggest Barbados -- beautiful
beaches, lots of shopping. :)
Answer#3: Mexico, the 3 of them has caribbean beaches, great
weather entertainment etc, but Mexico has a lot of
culture to offer if you go to the Riviera Maya
area, Cancun, and Cozumel there you can find
prehistoric pyramids and other type of sites, that
you cannot find any where else.
Answer#4: I have been to all 3 places. The water and
beaches in Mexico are hard to beat. We went to
playa del carmen last year and stayed at an
all-inclusive. It was wonderful. The food wasn't
the greatest but otherwise it was awesome. The
ecological parks are great. You can snorkel and
swim with the dolphins (book ahead) and both were
well worth the money. We honeymooned at Sandals
in the Bahamas and it was great but the beaches
and water is nicer in Mexico. Cancun can be a
huge party place so be careful where you stay if
you are not into that.I thought Jamaica was also
very nice (again at sandals). The water is nice
but if you leave the resort you need to be
careful. We had locals offering us drugs in the
airport and almost anywhere we went outside the
resort, even boating by in the ocean. At the
falls, the man offered to hold our camera but then
would not give it back without being paid.
Obviously, I would have tipped him but didn't like
being held hostage. Anyway, I hope this helps
this is just my experience.
Answer#5: I would choose Mexico. The beaches are beautiful
and the water awesome in Cozumel, Cancun and all
along the Rivera Maya. Lots of restaurants, clubs
and fun shopping. To enjoy Jamaica you would have
to stay in an all-inclusive resort and not
experience the island. Mexico is safe and you will
enjoy culture. The mexican people at all the
resorts are very hard working people. Also, it
depends where you live. You are going for 4-5
nights, you don't want to spends hours getting to
your hotel/resort. Or long time in the air. I
would go to Mexico over Bahamas any day. Enjoy,
wherever you go.
Answer#6: I have to say that I prefer Jamaica! :) If you
have a chance (and obviously you do) go to
Jamaica... Everyone should go there at least once
in a life time... :) Jamaica rules!!!! But no
matter where you go, have fun!Best, Mojca
Answer#7: I SAY GO TO JAMAICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO OTHER
CAN COMPETE.....
Answer#8: I've been too all 3 & I know everyone is
saying Jamaica, but the beaches aren't that great
& unless you stay at a nice resort you will
get hangled by the town people. Its not clean
& very poor. If you choose that go to Negril.
Otherwise Mexico will be more friendly, I went to
Cozumel and had a great time. Sandals resorts are
at both, and have a really nice hotel standards.
Have a great time!
Answer#9: JAMAICA ALL THE WAY !!! I lived their for 4 years
and it's the best tropical island in the world! If
you love hot sandy beaches, great food, drinks and
music , friendly warm people , shopping and not to
mention romance ....then Irie land is the best
place to you !! Have a BLAST ....it will change ur
life forever !!
Answer#10: Have to say that Jamaica sounds like much fub...
been to all 3... LOVED it in Jamaica1! happy
sailing...
Answer#11: Jamaica~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x
Answer#12: Go to Jamaica you won't regret it.
