Question: Which is cheapest in January: Bahamas, Jamaica, or Puerto Rico?

Question Description:
I know they're all going to be expensive during that time of year, but which would be cheapest for an all-inclusive resort and flight package? I don't want to completely break the bank, but my bf and I NEED to get away for a long weekend to escape from the NYC winter. Any ideas?I've done preliminary research, seems like last minute deals are cheaper than booking in advance. Is that just for October, or does that apply at any time of year? Which place would we most enjoy?

Answer#1: I believe JAMAICA it is cheaper because of the money exchanges. but the weather in PUERTO RICO will be better also more enjoyable. The DR is more cheaper than the 3 above it is inexhaustible. anyway good luck in your trip weather is in PR or JAMAICA..

Answer#2: I would check out Sandals in Nassau or The Westin at Our Lucaya Beach Resort in Grand Bahama Island. I would book now if the price is in the budget.Check this website for specials

Answer#3: You will find that the closer it gets to the Holidays, the more expensive the rates will become. Thats when these islands get the most visitors, thus higher rates. Jamaica - known for its all affordable all-inclusivesBahamas- you may save on the flights since its very closePuerto Rico - you can find great deals on flights as well because many commercial airlines fly there direct. My Pick: AirJamaica and Sandals has a nice package.Try :

Answer#4: Yes you are right they will all be expensive at this time. & like the agent said the weather wont be quite so hot in the Bahamas so I might leave that out. Puerto Rico & Jamaica will both have excellent weather at this time of year. & also these last minute deals are probably cheaper b/c October is cheaper, normally you might not find this. November starts the high season in the caribbean. So if you can go right now, go, if not expect higher prices. I always use orbitz. I have family in PR & I go alot & I always find orbitz gives me the best prices. & its funny b/c I just got an email promotion. It is for a flight + hotel package to Puerto Rico for 3 nights & it is for $75 off. Here is the promo code: ORBD0T75(I am not sure if the 0 after D is a zero or the letter 'O' so try it until you get it)-------------------------------------------Anyw ay I would def recommend PR b/c it is beautiful & has so much to do. In San Juan there is tons of history, shopping, nightlife, casinos & restaurants. 'El Morro' is a 500+ yr old war fort overlooking the ocean & you an walk the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan. However I would reccomend staying outside of San Juan. It is expensive in San Juan & more tranquil outside. If you stay in Fajardo (45 mins from San Juan) you can go to 'El Yunque' Rain forest & swim in a beautiful waterfall called La Mina. You can go to Luquillo beach nearby or off the shore Palominas is a tiny secluded island, beautiful. Then at night u can go to 1 of the Bioluminescent Bays, the water actually glows in the dark when u touch it & u can take a kayak tour so u can swim in it. Its Amazing. Thee is 1 right in Fajardo & 1 right of the coast on a small island called vieques, you can take a ferry for $4 R/T. Vieques has beautiful beaches too & the other small island of Culebra. Or Dorado is nice too (25 mins from San Juan). The Embassy suites there is gorgeous. Its cost under $200 a night which is alot but worth it for a balcony suite. They have a private beach & a pool w/ poolside bar & grill & stage. & they have a cool lounge inside where they have live salsa bands playing on the wkends w/ a dance floor & bar. & they have a beautiful golf course too. Check out the hotel below. Also you are not far from Camuy Caves, the 3rd largest in the world & Arecibo telescope the largest radio telescope in the world (from movies Contact & James bond golden eye). Enjoy! I hope u find a good deal on something!!

Answer#5: From my expeience as an agent i would recommend the Bahamas (Nassau) not paradise Island as an inexspensive route. the airfare is always reasonalbe around January. the only downfall is that the Baamas is off the coast of Miami and sometimes that means you exsperience the same weather as the US. It is not really that warm down there In January. I been Twice in January and still the same results.

Answer#6: You're right, they are all expensive. Honestly, Cuba is a lot cheaper than any of those. It's nice there too, just find at least a 3 star...if you book last minute, all-inclusives can be like 3-500 bucks each for a week
