Question: A TEEN-FRIENDLY resort in Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands?
Question Description:
I'm traveling with my family (which includes two
50 year old parents, and two daughters, ages 16
and 13.) Most of the resorts I've found in either
Puerto Rico or The US Virgin Islands seem to cater
more to adults only or families with young
children. Can someone please give me a
suggestion?Or even the name of a travel site where
i can put in my specific needs?

Answer#1: I stayed at the Embassy Suites Dorado in Puerto
Rico & it was gorgeous. Less than $200 a night
for a suite with a balcony. It has a living room
w/ a couch that pulls out to a bed, so it can fit
more people. Also there was a group of teens
there. They were americans that studied spanish in
high school & went on a trip & they loved
it there. There is a lounge inside the hotel w/ a
stage & live salsa bands playing & they
loved dancing to the music & sipping their
virgin drinks the bar tender made for them. There
is also a private beach & a pool & jacuzzi
w/ an outdoor bar & grill. Plus if you rent a
car you can take everyone to see all the sites
P.R. has to offer. El Morro(or old for in San
Juan) is beautiful & people of all ages can
enjoy it. There is a big shopping mall called
Plazas de Americas for the teens & boutiques
in Old San Juan. Also all of the beaches are
beautiful & the center of island has lush
mountains w/ spectacular views &you can drive
the whole island in 1 day. The Camuy caves are
nice & El Yunque rain forest. So much to do!
Don't forget all the watersports & horseback
riding on the beach & snorkeling might be good
for the teens also. San Juan has casinos for the
adults. Plus no passport needed!

Answer#2: Try a Caribbean Cruise. I know that you are asking
for a resort, but I think that for teenagers, as
well as for mature people, the best is a cruise.
Teenagers can take advantage of the teen programs
(which seem to be fun), and the adults can relax
by the pool or just hang out. Try the Adventure of
the Seas, it goes out of San Juan. You can spend a
few days in San Juan (Caribe Hilton is a great
hotel). Then you can take the cruise; it goes to
Aruba, Curacao, St Martin and St Thomas. The best
part is that if you are Americans, you can travel
without a passport untill Jan 2008.Check on the
Adventure of the Seas...It has 4 swimming pools,
casino, rock climbing wall, mini golf,
roller-blade rink, ice skating rink, teenagers'
disco and program...everything you need to have
the best vacations ever.
Answer#3: If you just want a place to rest your head and
relax but plan on spending most of your time
outside the resort try a paradore. http://www.gotoparadores.comPuerto Rico is nice
but if you are going there for the first time be
prepared, trying to find anything in PR is a
nitemare, nothing is marked, street signs are far
and few between.
