Question: Why are the Virgin Islands more expensive than Puerto Rico?

Question Description:
Looking to find a very nice beacj for a week get-a-way in June. Somewhere low key and somewhat family oriented. Also a place with good food and good service. Not looking to spend a bundle....but really be able to enjoy the pool and the clear waters of a nice beach.

Answer#1: One Reason is that There's no straight flight from US...You have to stop in Puerto Rico....

Answer#2: also suggest Bolongo Bay Hotel, which is about 200 feet from where I'm writing this!

Answer#3: I have heard very good things regarding Secret Harbor Beach Resort in St Thomas. They are located on Nazareth Bay (closer to redhook ferry) I guess south east of the island. What I like about this resort is they have fully-equipped kitchens to help cut down the cost of some meals. (breakfast and lunch) They do have a restaurant, bar and a outdoor pool. It's not a 4/5 star but gets good reviews. (3 star)In St John check out Gallows Point Resort. Also has fully-equipped kitchens. Restaurant/Bar and outdoor pool. Walking distant to Cruz Bay. (3 star)I haven't been to St. Croix but the Buccaneer Hotel gets very good reviews (4 star)Check out the reviews on this site.
