Question: I'll be in the virgin islands this summer and I have some questions?
Question Description:
Okay, so I have done some research and I think
there is only one place where you can be 21 and
rent a car every other place you need to be 25. I
know the reason why but it is so stupid, you can
legally drive your own car but you cant drive
someone elses, they should just charge people
under 21 more. Anyways if you know of some locals
who dont care about your age please tell me.
Another thing is if I dont rent a car, I would
have to have taxis set up before hand to pick me
up from my house to drive me to wherever correct?
Any other opinions on the whole thing would be
great. I'll be 19 when i'm there walking is out of
the question unless you really can just walk to
where ever but if there long walks id rather have
an alternative.

Answer#1: I don't know of anyone that'll rent a car to
someone under 21, local or not. And as far as
transportation goes, which island are you staying
on? And where? If you are in st thomas, there's a
$2 safari taxi which runs from one end of the
island to the other. Theres also vitran bus, which
is a dollar to ride., And you can hail a taxi from
most places. In st john, "town" is
pretty small, and most kids just hitch. It's safe
to do that here (on st john anyways, wouldn't
recommend it in st croix or st thomas). And you
can also's call for a taxi, or ride the vitran,
which runs from town to coral bay every hour. hope
this helped!
Answer#2: They have a great bus system in place now. Good
Luck
