Question: Thinking about a family vacation in Caribbean, Do you think it would be more inexpensive .....?

Question Description:
to go through a travel agen or try and find rates myself. I have done some research and it seems like the info is almost too much to take in. We are thinking of either, Virgin Islands, Cancun, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, or maybe somewhere else, alot of it depends on the deal we can get and what is best for our 2 kids ages 7 and 8 by the time we go (it would be next year , if we can). thanks

Answer#1: It all depends, you can always search online to compare prices, and/or ring travel agencies (one to another) comparing prices, and once you found the cheapest (way cheaper than most fares), grab it while you can.I am a budget traveller and have been to Barbados 6 times. My first stay in Barbados, I was at Pegwell Inn Guest House for about 2 weeks (about 400 Barbadian dollars but that was back in December 2004). It all depends if the guesthouse accepts children, and so on.I always compare prices and once I see one that's a lot cheaper, than I'd grab it. As for guesthouse, it may not be luxury, but at least clean - that was all I care about.Hope this helps.

Answer#2: We went to an island wedding in St Lucia early this year, everything is so expensive there. The hotel costs us $300 a night, not the most expensive one. A meal costs $60 a person easily, I did not get even half full. For a friction of the money, you can have a much nicer vacation in Southeast Asia, like Malaysia or Indonesia.
