Question #1: Do you recommend Aruba or St. Thomas? If so...?
Do you recommend Aruba or St. Thomas? If so do you
think honeymooners are better served with an ALL
INCLUSIVE or would you save more going out of
pocket?
Answer: I would recommend Aruba... nice and not a lot of
traffic compared to St. Thomas (cruise ship
shoppers).. definitely all inclusive is the way to
go .. when my husband and I went, we saved a lot
of money. compared to my parents that chose the
European plan ( no meals).

Question #2: Destination Wedding? I need help!?
My fiance and I are planning on eloping - I was
thinking of doing the destination wedding thing,
and combining it with our honeymoon. I have been
looking at several places, such as Aruba, St.
Lucia, Cancun Mexico, US Virgin Islands, etc. All
have different rules and regulations for getting
the marriage license. My fiance is German, has a
work visa for the US.. I am an American Citizen.I
don't really know if that affects what papers we
will need for doing a destination wedding, or if I
should have him fill out his papers to become an
American Citizen, etc.I also don't know which of
the places I listed is the best way to go, like,
which one of them have an easy process for getting
the marriage license, which is best for weddings,
etc.Any advice would be appreciated, like websites
for setting up destination weddings, or info about
the marriage license..Thanks in advance
Answer: My daughter got married at sandals negril Jamaica.
We all had a wonderful time. It's a great place,
we go often. Why don't you call them and ask
about the wedding moon package and ask them what
papers you need? Perhaps they will tell you all
the regulations at all their sandals. Hope you
have a beautiful wedding.

Question #4: St Lucia or Aruba?
My hubby and I are wanting to take a trip in oct.
We can't make up our mind whether to go to Aruba
or St Lucia. Could anyone tell me where would be
better.
Answer: I would pick St. Lucia. I went to Aruba and unless
you like to relax by the pool or on the beach and
can deal with no clubs at night for dancing then
it's the perfect place. I like night life and
stuff like that. Aruba has casinos everywhere but
the machines are old and hardly ever work. The
people are nice and they are there to make your
stay comfortable but no nightlife.

the carribean..this trip will be on a budget, i

or four days..is it possible? and which island
would be cheapest..I was thinking Nassau, Bermuda
or Aruba? Also link would be appreciated.

small, friendly Tropicana hotel by the Yacht

Question #8: Aruba is outside the hurricane belt. How did Felix strike so close?
Answer: Because hurricane Felix developed at a very low
point in the tropics near latitude 11.8 north and
longitude 58.6 west, this if it had develop say 10
degrees lower Trinidad would be right in it ,so
its no suprise that it has affected the ABC
islands,as it moved on a more WNW to NW track.Just
because we have a 120 year record dosen't mean
that in prehistroric events the islands them
selves haven't been hit and that they cannot be
hit,the Hurricane belt is there becasue of the
amount of count of actual stroms which affect
areas by frequency and intesnsity.Who's to
tell, look at Hurricane Lenny of Nov, 1999. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Lenny
that move from West to east,i could just imagine
the loook on the faces of the forcasters. The
Hurricane belt is only as good as its History in
Weather Observation.I have found an article also
to help put "it" in more understandable
terms.{The Hurricane belt however dose not mean
that islands that far south wont be affected at
all,it simply inplies that, that it could happen
tomarrow but on a {more} ware occassion.For
instance, on Sept. 7, 2004, just before hurricane
warnings being posted for the "ABC
islands" of the southern Caribbean Sea —
Aruba, Bonaire and Curacco — I answered a
question from a reader who said his travel agent
had told him these islands are "immune"
from hurricanes. My answer, in part was: "Some
places, and these include the ABC islands, have
lower odds of being hit by a hurricane than other
places, but they are not immune. Hurricane odds
are based on history, and Aruba has a history of
very few hurricanes — only six have passed
within 62 miles of the island since 1877. This is
close enough for at least some effects to be
felt." }

Question #9: Going to Aruba Tomorrow and...FELIX?!?
I'm flying out tomorrow to go to Aruba, but now
I'm hearing about Hurricane Felix touching the
ABCs. I thought Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao had
nothing to worry about when it came to hurricanes
because they were below hurricane range. Can
someone please give me some quick info about
this?Felix is now a Category 2. What does that
mean?
Answer: You may have some problems. http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/holnus/00320070902
1819.htmAccording to some sites, the Aruba airport
is closing at 6am today (which means it's already
closed). The National Hurricane Center defines a
Category 2:Category Two Hurricane: Winds 96-110
mph (83-95 kt or 154-177 km/hr). Storm surge
generally 6-8 feet above normal. Some roofing
material, door, and window damage of buildings.
Considerable damage to shrubbery and trees with
some trees blown down. Considerable damage to
mobile homes, poorly constructed signs, and piers.
Coastal and low-lying escape routes flood 2-4
hours before arrival of the hurricane center.
Small craft in unprotected anchorages break
moorings. Hurricane Frances of 2004 made landfall
over the southern end of Hutchinson Island,
Florida as a Category Two hurricane. Hurricane
Isabel of 2003 made landfall near Drum Inlet on
the Outer Banks of North Carolina as a Category 2
hurricane. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutsshs.shtmlBetter
