Question #2: Just won 2 round trip tix airfare - Where to go?
I want to go to the Caribbean after New Years (Jan 2 - Jan 7) just a short get away. I was thinking of Mexico (never been). I am taking my boyfriend and 7 yr. old - we both snorkel and want somewhere that my daughter will enjoy. In Mexico, either Acapulco, Cancun or Cozumel. If not there then Aruba or Bermuda (been there twice but my daughter and boyfriend haven't), St. Maarten or St. Thomas - last choice because its a short trip.I live in NYCIf I picked Bermuda I would wait until April or May. Barbados was not a choice unfortunately. I just want a nice winter break.

Answer: Where do you live? That would help us give you an answer.

Question #5: Honeymoon to St. Lucia, Antigua, or Bermuda?
Right now, my top rank is Bermuda... but I'd like to hear from someone that's been to the resort that we're thinking of... the Mandarin Oriental - Elbow Beach, Bermuda.Does anyone know if there's a bar at the pool at this resort?? It doesn't look like it in the pictures...Our 2nd/ 3rd pick would be the Sandals resort at St. Lucia or Antigua. Please let me know of your experience/suggestions.We're looking for a relaxing honeymoon... We want to do an activity or two, but mostly just relaxing at the pool/beach, nice dinners and spa treatments. Thanks!

Answer: i can only give you information about antigua as i live there.Antigua is a place if you want a relaxing holiday you can get it,most of the hotels or if not all them have bar & restaurants, pools, etc.there is always something to do,if you get bored in the hotel you can find a local bar& restaurant or night club.the people are very friendly so do not be scared to ask for direction thats why we are here.

Question #6: island questions?
bermuda st thomas st marteen and puerto rico how hot is the water there? and is it very clear? and are there jelly fish and also are there high waves? and is it disgustingly dirty like beaches in the us and also does it taste like bad salt water yuckkkkk

Answer: it is hot but there are always cross breezes so you really don't even need A/C. the water is crystal clear, not anything like US beaches....well with the exception of some of those in FL. the water does however have a very high salt content but who cares? no high waves :-( bad news for surfers....some spots along a few areas few and far between and of course if a hurricane comes through you get waves. i never found a problem with jelly fish. you can see faboulous fish and the most beautiful things you could never imagine. the carribean has the best beaches you will ever see, i promise you. i lived and worked on st. thomas for a year.

Question #8: How long has Bermuda been in the Caribbean & how did it get there?
Some years ago I lived there, and it was then in the Atlantic. Many people, including Yahoo, are under the impression that it is in the Caribbean (see Categories). My question was, of course, "tongue in cheek".

Answer: Well... Europeans didn't want an island around them, so they shipped it off to the caribbean and turned it into a tourist trap. What do you meam how did it get there? What kind of question is that?

Question #9: Is there anybody on here that lives in the Caribbean or Bermuda?
If you are I'm just wondering what is it like to live in the Caribbean, and what place are you from?

Answer: I currently live in Bermuda. I think it is a beautiful island with an almost Utopian society. Very low crime, homelessness and unemployment. Friendly people and a quality style of life. It has helped me put life in perspective coming from Fla. with a high consumption lifestyle. Downsizing is humbling, fun, and necessary (very expensive here).

Question #10: Where's the best place to go in Carribean?
I am looking for a real nice beach to go this summer. I have a limited budget. Should I go to Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman or even Cancun. Maximum of 7 days. Any good tours to go with that?

Answer: Bermuda is really nice, but it could be a bit boring for young children. It's pretty good though because there are things to do if the weather turns bad. Cayman is boring. The Bahamas can be really nice, but plan to spend only one day looking at the casinos on Paradise Island (including Atlantis). Do some research. Is there a nice place in Eleuthra? Cancun is artificial, but the area sth of there including Playa del Carmen is so interesting. Barbados is nice. I would try to find a place that is not overly commercialized.
