Questions & Answers about Puerto Rico
Question #11: A TEEN-FRIENDLY resort in Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands?
I'm traveling with my family (which includes two
50 year old parents, and two daughters, ages 16
and 13.) Most of the resorts I've found in either
Puerto Rico or The US Virgin Islands seem to cater
more to adults only or families with young
children. Can someone please give me a
suggestion?Or even the name of a travel site where
i can put in my specific needs?
Answer: If you just want a place to rest your head and
relax but plan on spending most of your time
outside the resort try a paradore. http://www.gotoparadores.comPuerto Rico is nice
but if you are going there for the first time be
prepared, trying to find anything in PR is a
nitemare, nothing is marked, street signs are far
and few between.

Question #13: Weather in Puerto Rico for August?
I booked my tickets to Puerto Rico for 8/24-8/28
and then fly to St Croix from 8/28-9/4. How is
the weather like in San Juan Puerto Rico and St
Croix during this period? We want to enjoy the
beach and outdoor activities - but did not realize
that the month of August is Hurricane season.
Should we be concerned and will we be able to
enjoy any sunshine at the beaches - we especially
look forward to snorkeling, hiking and
sightseeing.
Answer: The last time I was in Puerto Rico, August 2005,
it was SO hot. It rained one day for about an
hour, and it was still very warm. I've never been
to St. Croix. However, we did visit some other
islands while there and it was unbelievable hot.
You should be able to enjoy the beach just
fine.Enjoy!

Question #14: Vacation destination help?
My fiance and I are getting married September 1
this year. We cannot decide on where to go for the
honeymoon. We would like someplace warm and
tropical but the fear of hurricane season is
haunting us. We live in PA and was looking at a
cruise, or someplace in the Caribbean. Does anyone
know of any nice all-inclusive resorts? We are
familiar with Sandals, Breezes and places like
that. BUt are there any others that might be
hidden so to speak that you might know about? We
are open to Mexico, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, etc. We
were in Jamaica last year and didn't really care
for there so that is out. Thanks!
Answer: If you have the money go to Dubai!

friendly locals, little cabanas on the beach for
little $, adventure, snorkeling, ect..... Looking

Question #19: Why are the Virgin Islands more expensive than Puerto Rico?
Looking to find a very nice beacj for a week
get-a-way in June. Somewhere low key and somewhat
family oriented. Also a place with good food and
good service. Not looking to spend a bundle....but
really be able to enjoy the pool and the clear
waters of a nice beach.
Answer: I have heard very good things regarding Secret
Harbor Beach Resort in St Thomas. They are located
on Nazareth Bay (closer to redhook ferry) I guess
south east of the island. What I like about this
resort is they have fully-equipped kitchens to
help cut down the cost of some meals. (breakfast
and lunch) They do have a restaurant, bar and a
outdoor pool. It's not a 4/5 star but gets good
reviews. (3 star)In St John check out Gallows
Point Resort. Also has fully-equipped kitchens.
Restaurant/Bar and outdoor pool. Walking distant
to Cruz Bay. (3 star)I haven't been to St. Croix
but the Buccaneer Hotel gets very good reviews (4
star)Check out the reviews on this site. http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.comGood Luck.

$10,000 a night, of course. :)Any suggestions?
