Question #2: i am looking into buying proerty in Belize, specifically Ambergris cay?
I am wondering about crime rates, water clarity, beaches, poverty and standard of living. How expensive are things? How difficult / expensive is it to get supplies from the mainland Given a choice between Ambergris Cay, Placencia and a new development across the bay from Chetumal Mexico whats your opinion. I want a rental income property for now but something that I could perhaps retire to in 20 years. I love the caribbean and wish I could afford something in the Virgin Islands but thats not happening so I figured I would try something on the other side or the Caribbean Sea. Any suggestions, opinions or info would help.

Answer: I think these 2 sites can really help you w/ your desicion. GOODLK!

Question #3: Cheap caribbean vacation for week before Christmas?
I'm trying to book a cheap Caribbean vacation for two (Bahamas, Virgin Islands, St. Martin, DR, or Cancun, or similar) for the week before Christmas. When I get on the websites, they advertise a price, but as soon as I enter my details (travel dates, etc.) the price quadruples. What am I doing wrong? I am willing to fly back on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day -- I thought this would make it cheaper but perhaps I am wrong? What dates would make it come up as the advertised price? I can be flexible (leaving anywhere between December 16th and 20th, coming back anywhere between 20th and 25th). Which dates/destinations would give me the best deals? Also, any recommendations as to specific destinations? Or places to book other than the websites that I have had the above mentioned problems with? I just want it to be simple! Thanks :)Well, when do you have to return by for it to be considered 'before Christmas.' ? I have tried the 23rd, 24th, and 25th, but prices are equally high on all 3 days

Answer: The prices always go up a lot during Christmas. Try getting airfare using American Air using flexible date search, then book your hotel separately. I got really cheap airfare through them to Jamaica for this New Years holiday. LAX to MoBay for $409, but I got the tickets about a month ago.High season starts in December and continues for a few months. The most economical time to travel to the Carribean is during the months of June through August.

Question #4: Thinking about a family vacation in Caribbean, Do you think it would be more inexpensive .....?
to go through a travel agen or try and find rates myself. I have done some research and it seems like the info is almost too much to take in. We are thinking of either, Virgin Islands, Cancun, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, or maybe somewhere else, alot of it depends on the deal we can get and what is best for our 2 kids ages 7 and 8 by the time we go (it would be next year , if we can). thanks

Answer: We went to an island wedding in St Lucia early this year, everything is so expensive there. The hotel costs us $300 a night, not the most expensive one. A meal costs $60 a person easily, I did not get even half full. For a friction of the money, you can have a much nicer vacation in Southeast Asia, like Malaysia or Indonesia.

Question #6: Virgin Islands or Hawaii a better choice for a summer (May-July, flexible) destination wedding site?
We are deciding on a place to have our destination wedding/honeymoon. I've never been to either, and I am wanting opinions from those who have travelled to both as to which would be a better choice. Take weather, quality of beaches/resorts, activities, dining, etc into account when answering. Most likely, we will have the wedding at a resort, so specific resorts you would recommend that you have ACTUALLY stayed at would be awesome! Thanks for your help.

Answer: I have a cousin that lives in the Virgin Islands and I was just in Hawaii two years ago in June. I would definitely recommend the Gran Wailea Resort in Maui for a destination wedding. This place is unbelievable, great restaurants extremely clean and lots to do. The only drawback that I can see with it is the enormous size. If that does not bother you than I would check it out. If you are looking for a place a bit more personal try the Fairmont Orchid on The Big Island of Hawaii..much more romantic and quiet. There is also great snorkeling on the beach right out front with tons of green sea turtles. I would highly reccomend both!Hope this helps...good luck!

Question #10: What is the best hotel in the U.S Virgin Islands?
I am looking for a vacation for the summer and want to stay at one of the Virgin Islands. I am thinking about the Ritz-Carlton but haven't made up my mind. Any ideas?

Answer: Check out this web site. It is written by travellers for other travellers. There are honest reviews on hotels and all sorts of other travel related things. There is often "a local expert " who will reply sometimes with extremely detailed answers.
http://www.tripadvisor.com/In fact it has information on everything you will need for a trip anywhere!! If you can't find the answers you want you can post a question (just like on Yahoo Answers) in the forum area of the town/city/country you are interested in. If you type Virgin Islands into the search box - and then click on the hotels I'm sure you will find a number of reviews for that particular one.
