Question #14: I'd like to know what carribean country is family friendly and and affordable?
Our children are ages 14, 18 and 21. Specific resorts on the island would be apprciated.

Answer: Nassau Bahamas where you can stay at Atlantis. In my country you can have lots of sun, sand and turquoise sea. You can also swim with the dolphins, mingle with the natives and have lots of duty free sopping. Have fum on your vacations.PS ..You can also stay at the Nassau Beach Hotel. It is less expensive that Atlantis and there are lots of activities you and your kids can do. The hotel is not far form the downtown area where there is the famous Straw Market.

Question #17: Honeymoon on Grand Cayman In June?
We recently booked our honeymoon at the Grand Cayman Mariott Beach Resort. (Our family donated the Mariott Rewards Points) We have been worried about the risk of hurricaines, as well as summer weather. Also does anyone know if there would be things not offered in June as it is considered an off season. Also- I have been to several websites looking for the exchange rate from USD to Cayman Dollars. I have gotten various rates. Can someone who has been there recent or lives there help. Also, is there anything that we must take with us- as I am sure there are some things easy to find in the US that might be difficult to find there. Thanks so much.

Answer: hi there. I have been to the Caymans, my favorite island in the Caribbean. It is more expensive there than most other islands (as I have been to many of the Caribbean islands - hopelessly addicted!). They take American dollars. The average meal for two people is about $50 for a nice restaurant. Your hotel is on 7-mile beach in Georgetown. There is lots of nice shopping at the port in Georgetown. The Hard Rock Cafe is located there and is a great place to have lunch. If you are renting a car (which is kind of fun since they drive on the left-side of the road). Be sure to go to the other side of the island to Rum Point Beach. It's nicer than 7-mile and not as many people. You can take tours from there to Stingray city and swim with the Stingrays. It is great fun. The water is so warm and the people are very friendly. Also, when you are over at Rum Point Beach take the road that forks to the right on your way back right after you leave the parking lot - it'll take you to Kaibo Kai Beach Bar and Restaurant. Have a meal there, they are so wonderful. Daniel is the owner and he will make you feel like you are the only ones there. It is basically in a hut-type setting on the beach with beautiful views. A great experience and once again not that crowded since people don't really know its there. We loved it so much in the Caymans that we nearly moved there. I don't think the hurricanes really start until after June, so I think you'll be safe. Purchase some travel insurance though, it is relatively cheap just in case.

Question #19: Any recommendations for best all-inclusive resorts for a family with 2 kids age 5 and 2? Not too pricey and sh

Answer: You don't state what part of the world you would like to visit or where you will be traveling from, but the first thing that comes to mind are some of the all-inclusives in the Caribbean. Some of the Club Meds are designated as family resorts and have great activities for children. The Club Meds are scattered throughout the world, but the ones that come to my mind that are great for families are in Florida, Ixtapa-Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Also - Beaches. Beaches resorts are also great for families and they have several throughout the Caribbean. They might sound pricey at first, but when you consider what you are getting in the price: all meals, snacks, drinks, activities, entertainment, water-sports, it really is a good deal. Here are the websites:

http://www.beaches.com/**A cruise might be another option for you. They are all-inclusive as well and Disney Cruise Lines is fabulous for childrenKeep in mind that if you are a U.S. citizen, everyone will be required to have a passport for anywhere in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico for 2007.

Question #20: Looking for a clean, family all inclusive resort to vacation with family members for 5 days in November of 200
Not interested in Disney. The youngest child with us is 19. Not looking for topless or nude beaches either. This would not be appropriate for us either. We want sun, the beach, good drinks and food and fun.

Answer: Hi Carolann,Here are a few I can recommend;Breezes Bahamas - ages 16 & over, food is good, drinks are good but not great, they only have Kalik for beer & Appleton Rum but they do have top shelf other liquors of vodka, whiskey, etc. The beach is pretty nice & the activites are good. The condition of the resort is good but in need of upgrading which they have been working on for a year or more now ( I am going to take a tour of it in January 07 to see the progress ) Good deal for the costRIU resorts- Various locations -All ages -it is a good brand & run a tight ship as far as serving decent food, drinks, activites, etc.Club Med - Various locations, some are adult only - I have had a few families vacation at Cancun & they loved it - Very good as far as food, drink, service & activities - There is also one in Sandpiper, Florida, however it is NOT on the beachBeaches Resorts - Good productPalladium in the Riviera Maya - I have not personally been here but have sent clients, they come back with rave reviews for food, drink, accomodations & activities!Sunset Jamaica Grande - great resort for the $$$Avoid the Dominican Republic since there are usually always topless women on the beaches - the D.R. attracts many EuropeansIf you are planning on going during the Thanksgiving holiday, plan on booking within the next several months since holidays always fill fast!Anymore questions, please feel free to email me :)Hope this helps!Wendy
