Question #2: Has anyone vacationed in Belize? Any websites, vacation packages and advice you can give?
I'd love to go, but is there an economical way to
do it for a family of 4?
Answer: Can't give you any info on vacation packages since
I visited a Belizean national down there who was
my own personal tour guide, but I can relay some
lessons. I hope they prove useful. To visit Tikal
in Guatamala, be prepared for an extremely bumpy
ride in a microbus. You'll be approached by
locals that will give you a guided tour. It's
worth it, although I did get a little nervous when
he led me back to the parking lot off the beaten
path with not a soul in sight, but all's well that
ends well.Make sure you have something to carry
all your Belizean dollar coins. You'll end up
with a lot of them. If you decide to donate to a
beggar in Belize City, be discreet when dropping
those loud dollars into his can. It can be rather
unnerving to see dozens of others step out of the
shadows and stride briskly toward you to share in
your generosity. Probably harmless, but unnerving
nonetheless. Stay on the coast and visit the
interior, not the other way around and take a bus,
what with the chickens and other assorted animals,
it's a rather unforgetable experience. Rio Frio
cave is interesting as is Hidden Valley Falls.
Don't miss either. If you can afford it, FLY to
Ambergris Caye instead of taking the speedboat.
It's a long and bumpy ride otherwise. Belizeans
are a kind and gracious people and appreciate it
in return. Doing so will assure a safe and
enjoyable vacation.

Answer: Most resorts are clothing required that I have
been to in the Caribbean. But if you want to be

Question #8: luxury link travel service?
Hi. Has anyone used luxurylink.com? I want to
take a vacation and read about this website. I've
been on there a lot looking at their various
packages, which seem to be all quite competitively
priced. Or, does anyone have any other
suggestions of who they've used for travel? I'm
thinking of the Caribbean, Belize (for diving) or
even just a luxury spa package in the states
somewhere.Thanks in advance!
Answer: I am not familiar with this particular website but
I always suggest getting a price quote from
several sources. Here is an idea to consider; If you
want to stay in the states & want luxury spa
& accomodations, try Manderin Oriental in
Miami, then head down to Key Largo ( about 1 hour
drive ) for some world class diving. Also, Grand
Cayman is known for some fantastic diving walls,
beautiful beaches & great hotels.Cozumel has
nice, refurbished hotels & some great diving,
however some of the reefs were badly damaged by
Hurricane Wilma in 2006.There are many beautiful
places to dive throughout the caribbean along with
nice accomodations, it really depends on your
overall budget.Hope this helps!Wendy

Question #9: Does anyone have any input on Sadals vacations?
We are looking into going on a trip in Feb.I am
leaning torwards Jamaca and booking the Sandals
package but I am open to other all inclusive
packages as well.As long as it is warm and the
best value. We don't want to go on another cruise.
Answer: We stayed at Sandals Ocho Rios our 1st trip to
Jamaica. It was really nice. Probably the nicest
place I've been. They really made sure you had a
great vacation. The food was great. The only
downfall was, we are 23-25 and it seemed to be
alot of people 40-50. For dinner at night men had
to wear pants and collar shirts to most of the
resurants. It wasn't as "laid back" as I
like. It was wonderful though. I would book Negril
instead of Ocho Rios or MoBay. It is much prettier
there and the one in MoBay is right next to the
airport.
