Question #2: If I want to go on a Carribean cruise in Feb or March 2008,?
will I get a better deal if I wait, or should I
book it now?
Answer: Many cruise lines will discount your cabin 6
months out. You take a chance booking close to
departure. You may not get the level or room you
want. If you don't care what room/level your on
than wait. http://www.cruise.com or http://www.cruisecritic.comGood Luck

Question #4: Grand Cayman- the REAL deal! How was your trip?
I read up on weather, pests, and the currency
exchange. I'll be traveling to Grand Cayman March
2008, and I'm looking for peoples' experiences
regarding how the natives treat tourists, how the
dining is (expensive? satisfying??), the condition
of the beaches. Also- any small tips from personal
experiences. What was your favorite part??? Any
foods I should make a point to try or avoid?Thank
you!Great answers! I'll look out for the conch
fritters and turtle stew. Don't be shy, now!
Pitch in your two cents! I'm so excited and really
appreciate anything anyone has to share about
their own trip!
Answer: My husband and i went may of 2006. we stayed at
the hyatt on seven mile beach. it was superb. the
resort is on the beach; so you go downstairs and
the back of the hotel is the beach. it was very
private. not many people on the beach at all. the
water was as clear as a pool! the natives are VERY
friendly. so friendly i didn't want to leave. the
exchange rate is high. they use the cayman island
dollar which is like 1.5 X the us price of
something. for example, if they advertise a key
ring for 5C.I. it's 5 x 1.5. so, food in the
groceries are kinda steep. so, if you like
american snacks, take your own. the restaurants
are not too bad, but i wouldn't go there for the
steaks. the steaks are very expensive for a decent
size. for eg, you might pay 30 CI for a 10oz
steak. but local casual restaurants are affordable
and well worth it. the concierge at the hyatt had
a thick binder filled with all the local
restaurants. some places even have live bands,
which is really nice. the city, georgetown is also
nice.try the conch fritters, but be weary of raw
seafood. and take everything you would need. like,
toiletries.all in all, it's a great place to
visit; great people, great food, great sun, great
beaches, great experience!

Question #6: Traveling to the Caribbean?
Looking for a Caribbean deal. My requirements are
a resort that is on a beautiful beach and also has
wonderful pools. I'm traveling with 2 small kids,
my husband and my mother. It's very difficult to
decide. I really want the place to be as safe as
possible. I have gone to Dominicana before so I
rather prefer going to other place that I don't
know. If someone has a clue!! Thanks
Answer: Try the resort side of Costa Rica. I hear that it
is really beautiful. Make sure that you get all
inclusive. They also have their own security
force, which is about as safe as you can get down
there.

Question #7: carnival conquest to montego bay, cozumel, grand Cayman?
okay, we are first timers and w are looking for
points of interests at all stops. Also curious as
to what the weather will be like in february?
What are we looking at paying for port
charges/taxes and what not. We are cruise virgins
and really looking for the best experience we can
get from this deal. In Coz we are looking at
either the mayan ruins tour or doing the Race
Fantastique, which is a local amazing race kinda
thing. Other than that we have a list of the
excursions and are wide open, but the $$$ and $$$$
are pretty much out of the question.
Answer: Remember that at each stop the ship only stays max
one day, first stop would be Cozumel, second Grand
Cayman and third Jamaica.Call Carnival Cruises and
ask what activities or side tours can you take at
each stop, and they will send you all info
including prices. The only thing the ship does
for you at those three ports at no extra cost is
the transfer by motor boat to the shore and back
to the ship, all else is an additional cost and
they have side tours to offer.

Question #8: Sandals resort?
I want to go to the Sandals resort in February. I
have a while still but when is the best time to
book it to get the best deal?
Answer: Good question. It's really hard to say when you
might get the best deal. We see promotions for
Sandals resorts from 1 year out to three weeks
before. I've personally stayed at two Sandals
resorts...Dunns River and Whitehouse, both within
the last 8 months. I took some video of Dunns and
put it up on a website: www.sandalsvideos.com
