Question #12: Does taking a cruise aboard a luxury liner appeal to you considering the following events..?
Pirates: In November 2005, pirates fired grenades and machine guns at the Seabourn Spirit off the coast of Somalia. One crew member was injured. Violent Tilt: The cruise ship Crown Princess abruptly tilted in July, sending items flying and injuring 240. The cruise line said "human error" caused the accident. Disappearance: One in a spate of passengers that went missing, George Smith, left, vanished on a Royal Caribbean cruise with his wife in July 2005. Fire: In March, a fire broke out in the Star Princess liner on its way to Jamaica. One person died and 11 others were injured. Giant Wave: A 70-footer battered the Norwegian Dawn in April 2005, flooding 62 cabins and rattling passengers, four of whom were hurt. Man Overboard: Tim Sears last remembers being in the casino on a 2003 Carnival cruise before he awoke in the sea at night. He was rescued after 17 hours. Illness: Sickness has swept several cruises. Here, passengers leave the Regal Princess in September 2003 in New York after more than 300 caught a virus.

Answer: Your sample only shows a few disasters over a several year span of time. It's the same as flying on an airplane. Yeah, things are going to happen; but it's very rare.I would still like to be able to go on a cruise, and I wouldn't let a few bad things stop me.

Question #13: I've booked a Caribbean cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line on Norwegian Spirit. How does it rate vs others?

Answer: I've been on a cruise every year for 9 years and Norwegian cruise line is by far the best I've been on. With the 24 hour pizza and hamburgers to the relatively inexpensive drinks, not to mention the constant activities. This year I went to Norwegian Majesty(Bermuda) and Carnival Fascination(Bahamas), I was appalled by Carnival. Hope you have a great time :) Where are you heading?

Question #14: my first cruise. Norwegian 10 nights to the east Caribbean. Need advice on shore excursions and proper dress.?
How do I find out about shore excursions, how do I book them? How do I pack? I know that some nights are formal. How formal? Short dresses or long dresses? All advice is welcome.

Answer: Check out the available excursions online now.Norwegian has them listed on the website. Decide what you would like to do, then check out other sites to see if you can get a better price. www.cruise411.com,www.allvacationtravel.com, web sites for the islands, etc. If there is something you Really want to do, book it now. Depends on which island you go to, but there are usually taxis available when you dock. Especailly if there are 4 or 6 of you, it is usually cheaper. We had a lovely 6 person tour in St. lucia by just getting a taxi. We booked a tour online in Jamica and had a private taxi. in Hawaii we went whale watching on the same boat as 35 people from the ship; we paid $24 each, they paid $42.If you are going to Grand Cayman you should know that it is rough, and since it is a tendered port, many times you will be later or may miss the port altogether. When we were there we were about 3 hours late, and 3 ships left,As for clothes, there will be everything. Men in tuxes, men in pants shirts. ladies in long, short, "church" clothes, pants...i have never seen them turn anyone away. Each time we go I get less dressy, and take less stuff. Husband takes dress pants and jacket, i take pants and dressy top. It is up to you, what you are comfortable with. If you are going with a group asked some of them what they are doing.,Most improtant, have fun.

Question #16: I'm considering a cruise vacation in December.?
Does anyone know anything about Norwegian Cruise Lines? I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean, but not Norwegian. The cruise would be on the Norwegian Dream that will go out of Houston, Texas. Is this a nice ship? Do they have good shows? How is the food? Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Answer: NCL is a pretty good line. They are a little different than others because of the freestyle cruising they do. Basically, you have more options this way. Some people love it, some people hate it, so it just depends on what you like. With NCL you do pay a little for your meals. Other cruise lines it is included unless you eat at one of the restaurants that has an extra surcharge, NCL only has a few restaurants that don't have the surcharge. As far as the Norweigian Dream, it is a pretty nice ship. It isn't one of NCL's best ships, but it is still pretty nice. NCL is considered a nicer line than Royal Caribbean or Carnival, is also usually costs more. I'm not sure which ships you have been on. But I think you will have a good time. Here is a link, you can read more about the ships and some reviews that are usually pretty helpful in deciding if you want to go on that cruise or not.
