Question #4: How does disney cruise compare to royal caribbean?
I know on RC they charge you for soda, certain
restaurants ect, un-like disney, but what else do
you have to pay for while your ON the ship? &
How does it compare just in general?
Answer: It depends on what type of vacation you are
looking for. RC caters to a more active,
middle-aged crowd. There's a rock climbing wall
on almost every ship, lots of sports activities,
etc.On RC, you're food and most entertainment will
be covered. You would have to pay for alcoholic
drinks, soda (but they have a soda pkg that gives
you unlimited soda/juice), gambling, Bingo, spa
treatments, and anything you do ashore. The
recommended amount for gratuities is $9.75 per
person, per day.Royal Caribbean has a more modern
fleet (with ice skating rinks, boxing rings, cool
nightclubs, fancy restaurants) and visit more
destinations. Disney is ... well .... Disney. I
you're kids are dying to see Mickey Mouse, go with
Disney. Interesting fact, however, is that the RC
kid's program is the highest rated in the entire
cruise industry (yes, even above Disney).

Question #5: What's the best cruise line for kids, besides Disney?
We'd like to go on a quick (probably 7 day or so)
cruise that'll be enjoyable for our 8- and 4-year
olds as well as for us. BUT, one of our kids has
a medical condition that makes me not want to
leave US waters, so Mexico/Caribbean is not
necessarily what we want. We live in Southern
California. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
Answer: Carnival

Question #6: What cruise should we do this year...Celebrity from NJ to Bermuda or something different?
My husband and I are planning a cruise this summer
for our 15'th anniversary. We are leaving our 5
children with grandparents. We are looking for a
good 7 night cruise. We want something fun yet
classy...also sunny. We have done 2 Carnivals
(fun, but a little to "neon"), 1 Royal
Car. & 2 Disney (LOVED Disney, but no children
this time). We are tired of the Bahamas and
really of the Caribbean cruises as well. We are
considering Celebrity's JOURNEY from NJ to
Bermuda, but the ship is smaller than most and we
wonder if there will be as much to do. Any
suggestions? Thanks a bunch!
Answer: here's a link on ebay where they have really low
prices on cruises all over the world.

Question #7: princess cruises...?
i was wondering how the princess cruises were. I
would be traveling with 2 adults, kids ages 13,
11, and 4 month old. We were thinking of going to
the Eastern caribbean...i looked into pricing the
cruise out, and it was relitivley cheap. How are
those cruises in general? Is there alot to do for
kids? (for the 13 and 11 year old) is the food
good? I heard carnival wasnt so great, and disney
is ridiculous...can any one recomend any other
great cruise lines that would be suitable for all
of us? I need as much info as i can get! thank
you...
Answer: Princess is fantastic. They're an elegant yet
relaxed way to travel, and really strive to treat
each guest royally. Your 13 and 11 year old should
be fine, as Princess has great youth activity
counselors, child and teen centers and depending
on your ship, several pools and entertainment
options which are kid-friendly. Your 4 month old
will probably be as content taking a nap in a crib
as going on a cruise; however, if I remember
correctly, Princess offers an in-room nanny
service at a slight surcharge if you'd like an
evening alone. The food is great on Princess,
though perhaps not as good as Celebrity and
Holland America Line, it is still miles ahead of
Carnival, NCL and probably about the same as Royal
Caribbean. Their excursions tend to be expensive
but worth the price. Overall, on a scale of 1 -
10, I'd probably give Princess an 8.5. Carnival
would place around a 6 and Royal Caribbean around
a 7.5. Celebrity and HAL would take top honors
with 9.5 each. Regardless of what you do, it'll be
a lot of fun for you and your entire family. Have
fun!

Question #8: Should I go east or west for a cruise?
I am considering a Disney Cruise next year and
would like to know if anyone has any comments on
their own experience. There are 2 choices for our
family. One is the eastern caribbean and the
other is the Western Caribbean. Any info would be
helpful!
Answer: i've been on a cruise before and it was awesome!
in my opinion though i wouldn't go during
hurricane season.

Question #9: Which is better for older teens: Disney cruise for the western caribbean or eastern?
I'm also bringing my family, adults and little
kids (7 and 5)
Answer: Hmm, I just looked at the Disney Itenerary and
it's a little different than many of the other
boats. Western typically have 3-4 stops, so
that's kinda normal. But Eastern, departing from
Puerto Rico, Typically have 5-6 stops and only one
full day at sea. Based on that, it's a little
more difficult to decide. I think it's probably a
toss up and while I found the Eastern Caribbean to
be more pleasant, some may like the Western
Better. I personally found the Eastern trip to
feel safer and cleaner than a Western (other than
Grand Cayman). I found the beaches very
accessable via an inexpensive taxi ride, the
people more friendly on the whole, and felt like
there was more stuff to do without having to sign
up for pricey shore excursions. Make sure that
your older teens are comfortable with a Disney
cruise - they are really really geared at Disney
friendly people. If they will get annoyed with
cartoon characters being everywhere and tons of
younger kids running around, then perhaps a Royal
Caribbean cruise would better suit them...Good
luck to you in your planning! : )
