Question #1: Will NFL Sunday Night Football be available on Caribbean Princess?
We leave next Sunday for a seven-day cruise, but
my beloved Eagles are playing on Sunday night on
NBC. Does anybody know if I'll be able to see it?
Past cruises we've been on have had VERY limited
television offerings and almost no American
sports.
Answer: This cruise is costing you how much per hour? And
you want to spend the time watching football?
Better to tivo it and watch it when you come back
instead of unpacking.

Question #3: 18 year old cruiser?
i am an australian citizen and was looking to go
on a cruise roundtrip sydney with either Princess
or royal caribbean with some friends (we are all
18.) Are we allowed to travel at 18 years of age
or do we need to be 21?
Answer: You'll want to check with the particular cruise
line. Most of them will allow you on if you are
18+ but some do not. If I remember correctly,
Crystal Cruises was strictly 21+.Your
entertainment choices might be limited in the
18-21 group. More than children, but possibly less
than adult..Princess Cruise's PolicyPassengers
under the age of 21 years must be accompanied by a
Passenger 21 years or older who shall assume
responsibility for their care during the cruise.
Each Passenger hereby agrees and warrants that
he/she will supervise any Passenger in his/her
care at all times to ensure all policies, along
with all other rules of the Carrier and ship, are
strictly adhered to by all Passengers under their
supervision. No alcohol may be purchased or
consumed by any Passengers under the age of 21. No
Passenger under the age of 21 shall be permitted
to engage in any gaming activities on board the
ship. No Passenger under the age of 18 shall be
permitted to purchase cigarettes or tobacco
products. Passengers hereby agree not to bring
alcoholic beverages of any kind (except wine and
champagne) on board for consumption."Royal
Caribbean:No guest under the age of twenty-one
(21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless
accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of
age, or older. This age limit will be waived for
minor children sailing with their parents or
guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged
married couples (proof of marriage is required).
Royal Caribbean International reserves the right
to ask for proof of age. Royal Caribbean
International's age policy for gambling and
consumption of alcoholic beverages is as follows:
Please note: An individual's age on the date of
sailing determines his or her status for the
entire cruise vacation.

Question #4: Anyone ever cruised Princess? We are booked on the Crown Princess for a Jan. Caribbean cruise.?
How did you like it?What was best? Any negatives?
Answer: I took one of the big Princess cruises in the
Caribbean and was prepared to dislike it because
the ship was so large. We were traveling with
others, so it was either go on the cruise or not
be with them.I was very surprised and pleased. I
never felt the enormity of the ship because it was
so well run and there were so many choices for
dining and entertainment that there were not long
lines. The main diningrooms are small and
intimate. They are not nearly as large at Holland
America's (which are quite beautiful). There are
many opportunities for entertainment for every
interest group. The food is good. Shore excursions
are varied and tendering is handled well. The
cabins were lovely and well attended.I enjoyed the
experience.

Question #5: Best Cruise Line to Alaska?
I am looking into Celebrity, Carnival, Royal
Caribbean, and NCL. I ruled out the others
because they didn't go roundtrip from Vancouver
(like Princess, I know it is supposed to be good,
but their itineraries don't work for us). This is
important to me. I am 24 and going with my
husband. We aren't super into the party scene,
but we also don't want to stick out horribly on a
cruise full of older people. We are going in
May.I would like to stick to the lines I mentioned
above, because they also fit into my budget. More
expensive lines like Crystal and Cunard don't work
for me!
Answer: We took a Crystal cruise to Alaska a couple of
years ago in July. It was terrific. No
complaints whatsover. You should be aware,
however, that the older (a/k/a half-dead
geriatric) crowd tends to book to the longer
2-week cruises (they are all retired w/lots of
free time!); the younger crowd goes for the 1-week
cruises.

Question #7: Contacting someone on a cruise?
I know it costs money for them to use internet and
phones. And, it will cost me about $8 per minute
to call via a credit card! But, can I purchase a
calling card to use for contacting some on the
caribbean princess?
Answer: Cell phones don't work when one is at sea. There
are no cell towers in the middle of the ocean.Ship
to shore or email is the best way to go.Actually,
email is NOT really that expensive on board. One
can generally by a package of minutes for a very
reasonable price.
