I am interested in the European cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Nice, France to Florence, Italy to Rome, Italy. I would like to know what ships are best and what cruise line everyone thinks is best.

Question #2: Royal Caribbean Cruise Formal Night?
We are getting married on the day we leave for our cruise. Dec 31 2007. I have a ivory cocktail type dress. Alittle below the knee. Would it be ok to wear on formal night so I dont have to pack another dress? I dont have a picture of it but this is close just in Ivory/off-white.

Answer: Absolutely. Cocktail style dresses are very common for cruise formal nights - I've definitely worn them. You don't need a gown. Your husband can wear a suit or a tuxedo.

Question #3: Tipping up front for Royal Caribbean Cruise?
It says 39.00 per person for a 4 night say on the cruise. If we do this what all does it cover? Who will we tip and will get the tip out of the 39.00? Is it better just to tip as we go ar to do the 39.00 per person? Is it 39.00 per day or for the 4 days? Is the 39.00 for the ones that handle your luggage or is that seperate? If its seperate how much do you tip them?So that you can thank those who have made your cruise vacation better than you could have imagined, we've developed these gratuity guidelines: Suite attendant: $5.75 USD a day per guest Stateroom attendant: $3.50 USD a day per guest Dining Room Waiter: $3.50 USD a day per guest Assistant Waiter: $2.00 USD a day per guest Headwaiter: $.75 USD a day per guest Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages.Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served. Envelopes for gratuities will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Gratuities may be paid in the following ways: Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your reservation agent. Added to your onboard SeaPass account. Paid in cash at the end of the cruise If I do the end of the cruise than do I still need to tip each waiter or does this tip everyone?

Answer: I would do the $39 per person- it makes it a whole lot simpler than going around handing out cash each day. It also makes sure that the people you dont see behind the scenes are also taken care of.

Question #4: Has anyone taken a Royal Caribbean November Cruise to the W. Caribbean?
Has anyone taken a cruise to the western caribbean on enchantment of the seas in November? I am looking for pointers, what to expect for weather at our ports of call: Key West, Cozumel and Bahamas. What the enchantment ship is like? What are the themes onboard, or how to get that information? What is best to take advantage of when I am at any of the ports of call and what I should stay away from? What is the best hotel to stay at in Fort Lauderdale pre cruise?

Answer: I've done this cruise. November 2004. Hurricane Floyd. yes of course a hurricane. To make a long story short. We flew into Miami - not Ft Lauderdale - stayed at the Fountainbleu - beautiful. Supposed to board on Monday 8 a.m. didn't board until 8 p.m. the ship is nice...big.... lots to do. go on line for all the info...www.royalcaribbean.com. Key West is great...lots of shopping in the port. Bahamas..go straight to the casinos. Didn't do Cozumel because the port was destroyed by the hurricane. Hide anything valuable in your room....the staff is not as honest as they seem.

Question #5: Passport for Caribbean cruise?

http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01jan200 71800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2007/07-3104.htmThis document at the DHS website states that if you leave from a US port and return to the same port, then a photo id and birth certificate are all that will be required. It states U.S. cruise ship passengers traveling within the Western Hemisphere would be permitted to present a government issued photo identification document in combination with either (1) An original or a certified copy of a birth certificate, (2) a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by DOS, or (3) a Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), when returning to the United States, under certain conditions: The passengers must board the cruise ship at a port or place within the United States; and The passengers must return on the same ship to the same U.S. port or place from where they originally departed.Has anyone else seen this? There is also a statement on this here
http://www.dhs.gov/xnews/releases/pr_11823504221 71.shtmThe departments have also identified unique circumstances for specific groups of travelers that warrant permitting the use of alternative documents.U.S. citizens on round trip cruise ship voyages that originate and end in the United States may present a government-issued photo ID and birth certificates, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad or Certificates of NaturalizationMike, the documents that I referenced were not pertaing to the temporary rule change, but to the final implementation. This is what was submitted to the National Register for their proposed rule change.

Answer: You need a passport.Do to the backlog of passport applications, if you have applied for a passport and still have not received it, you can go without a passport... just bring birth certificate and photo ID and proof that your application is PENDING.

Question #7: Looking for a good deal on a Caribbean cruise?
Hi, I live in Toronto and I am looking for the cheapest prices for a safe caribbean cruise. I am hoping to leave around the week of August 20/07. Any infomation would be appreciated.I Thank You All In Advance For Your Replies.

Answer: I use vacationstogo.com to start my research and then try to get a better deal than that. I've booked through the cruiselines, a local TA and vacations to go. I go with the best price for the cruise I want. Keep in mind that prices for cruises sometimes go down the closer to sailing date but the best cabins get booked earlier than that and airline rates go way up closer to the date you want to fly.

Question #8: Royal Caribbean cruise....?
I am going on the Mariner ship in about a week...I am 16, I was just wondering if there are other kids my age on cruise ships b/c it seems like all it is is just little kids...but also do you have to be 18 to get into clubs because my sister is 18 and she would go and Im afraid i'd be stuck with all the younger kids...

Answer: I went on a RC Cruise a year ago when i was 16 and i made the best friends i ever had in my life. They have dances every night and lots of teen activities. Go the opening night, that's when you meet people. There is nothing to really do on cruises from the ages of 18-21. 18 or above and your too old for teen stuff and sure you can go to the clubs but you can't drink till your 21. That's probably the worst age group to cruise. I'd say 15-17 is the best age for cruises.

Question #10: Regal Empress Caribbean Cruise?
The 2 night cruise departing from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau, Bahamas.Have you been on it? If so, give me your review. I have read mixed reviews about this cruise, however the most recent is one from November 2006. I've read really bad ones, some mediocre ones, and some pleasant ones. I know not to expect an extravagant cruise ship, because it is an old and smaller ship. I really want to start with a small trip for my frist cruise. What rooms do you recommend? What are the best off-boat activities in Nassau? Anything else you want to suggest! Thanks ahead of time for your imput!

Answer: I would not go on a 2 night cruise. It is too short. Our first cruise was a 3 night to the Bahamas, and when we got home, one of the first things we did was start looking for a longer one. If you want to try a small cruise, get a three or four day. You will not get to experience the ship in 2 nights, and this is what it is all about to me. I need at least five nights in the dining room to make it worth while.I am not fond of Nassau. Too manhy people are too pushy to try and get your money.
